At Aviva, we believe that your retirement should never be boring! In fact, that belief is at the very core of our vibrant Life Enrichment program. Led by our Director of Life Enrichment, Aviva maintains a diverse and exciting calendar of events, classes, programs, trips, and seminars for residents across campus to enjoy.

Redefining Retirement Living

At Aviva is like a cruise ship combined with your favorite memories of college life. Every day is filled to the brim with new things to try, fascinating lectures to explore, and opportunities to keep you active. This isn’t your typical idea of senior living, despite our love for a spirited game of Bingo.

Looking at your weekly calendar, you can find an activity to fit every resident. Below are just a few examples of what you might expect:

Classes – Try your hand at watercolor or pastel painting. Enjoy craveable delicacies at a live cooking class. Take to the stage for the first time in our theater or improv class. Keep yourself active with one of our beginner fitness classes. No matter what you choose, we believe you should never stop learning!
Lectures – Ever wonder what a typical day is like for the team at Mote Aquarium? Curious to learn the history of how Sarasota became the circus capital of America? Ready to take a step back in time to explore the culture of ancient Rome? Aviva is thrilled to welcome experts from a wide spectrum of specialties who visit campus to share their knowledge with our residents.
Performances – What would it feel like if the symphony, orchestra, and ballet were just steps from your front door? At Aviva, you'll never have to wonder again! Our Kretzmer Center, a state-of-the-art multipurpose performance venue, regularly hosts some of the most renowned musicians and performers from across the Suncoast. Each year, our Ernie Kretzmer Concert Series brings in hundreds of guests to enjoy a diverse collection of musical performances.
Opportunities to Explore – Just a short 10-minute drive in one of Aviva's comfortable buses brings our residents to the heart of downtown Sarasota. From there, they can enjoy day trips to local museums, botanical gardens, aquariums, wildlife attractions, luxury shopping, and more. Residents are heavily involved in planning these trips which means there is something for everyone to enjoy.
