A Special Chanukah Message

A Special Chanukah Message from Jay Solomon, CEO, and Rabbi Anne Feibelma. On behalf of the entire community here at Aviva we want to wish you an incredibly warm and happy Chanukah, New Year, and holiday season. This time of year is always a special opportunity to reflect, to come together, and to celebrate. As we approach 2018 our team is reflecting on our many firsts, our new members, and the moments that have defined this community for the past year.As we come together once again as a community in such a moment of kavanah or spirit, we hope that each person takes a moment to say an extra blessing this Chanukah. We hope that you will take advantage of the incredible events and programs taking place this Chanukah to not only experience Aviva but bring your own energy and traditions to our community.During the Second Annual Chanukah Spectacular: Eight Days & Nights of Music & Lights, our largest and most popular event is the annual Menorah Lighting Extravaganza. Not a moment to be missed the Extravaganza brings hundreds of residents, staff, and volunteers together in a simultaneous menorah lighting. Each year over 100 Chanukiyot bring warmth and light to this special evening. All of our events are completely open to the entire community and we hope you will extend an invitation to your friends, family, neighbors, and other individuals to join in this celebration. The Holiday Season is one of the most powerful times of the year to see the strength of our community and we know that this year will be particularly filled with joy and cheer.Chag Chanukah Sameach!Rabbi Anne and Jay Solomon, CEOSpecial thanks to the Aviva residents, staff and volunteers whose help is invaluable to making our Chanukah celebration extraordinary!Check out our Facebook page for photos from these wonderful events and more.Chanukah ActivitiesTuesday, December 12th-4:00 PM– Chanukah Violin Concert7:00 PM– Chanukah In Israel:A Partnership with the Association of Professional Jewish ArtistsWednesday, December 13th-2:30 PM– Latke Social7:00 PM– The Freylecht Klezmer Band Presents: Chanukah a CelebrationThursday, December 14th-7:00 PM– Cantor Laurence Dermer: Light Up the World PerformanceFriday, December 15th-8:45 AM– Sufganiyot Social2:30 PM– Dreidel on Tour Chanukah ShowSaturday, December 16th-7:20 PM– Klezmania on the Gulf Chanukah ShowSunday, December 17th-1:30 PM– Theodore Bikel’s “A Taste of Chanukah”7:00 PM– Cantor Marci’s Baroque to Modern Chanukah Acapella ConcertMonday, December 18th-2:30 PM– Latke Social7:00 PM– Chanukah Sounds on SaxSarasota Community Partners’ CelebrationsTemple SinaiFriday, December 15thChanukah Happenings5:00 PM– 8:30 PM*Registration required, please call 941-400-6474 to reserve your spot*Temple Emanu-ElFriday, December 15thChanukah Dinner6:00 PM– 7:30 PM*Reservation required, please call 941-371-2788 for more information*Temple Beth SholomFriday, December 15th6:00 PM– 7:00 PMChanukah Shabbat Dinner*Reservation required, please call 941-955-8121 for more information*
